Sunday sun spot

This isn't quite as warm as laying in front of the heater, but it does give me some extra stripes. MOL. Have a happy Sunday. Go Panthers!!

Bring me the warmz

It's been a little bit chilly around here lately, I suppose that is to be expected since it is January after all.
The other day Mum was on the computer and it's not very warm in her office, so she had this little heater on.  Ahhh, it was nice and warm:
you know I had to warm the under carriage

I couldn't get much closer without sitting on it

We enjoyed its warmz for so long, a circuit breaker in the house got upset and shut off all of the upstairs power until WB went down to reset it.  He said we have to limit our warmz timez so that wouldn't happen again.

Sunday Selfie

My Sunday Selfie contribution

Thanks to  for hosting this weekly bloghop

Food review time.

Its that time again, I get to be a spokescat for and review a product. Once a month we get an email from Sydney letting us know what the current options are to choose from.  If you have a blog you too can be a member, just send them a message saying you want to be a part of this great blogger outreach program.  The deal is, they send a product and you provide an honest review on your blog.  It's Easy Peasy!

This is the cool little box that was inside the big box, this was new, I hadn't seen this shipper before.
I like the warning at the bottom. MOL!

Let's flip that box over shall we...

Well now, what have we here?  12 fairly large sized cans of Ziwi Peak Daily Cat Cuisine.  Well that sounds fancy, I usually just get cat FOOD, not CUISINE.

It also says that it's from New Zealand, that sounds exotic,
I think I need to start talking with an accent now, let's see if I can write with an accent.  Better yet, I learned some New Zealand words just for you:
Kia Ora eehvryone! (This means Hello everyone) and, Ka pai (this means Good).  Okay, okay, let's stop clowning around, I'm writing this in cat English.  Let's see if this food is ka pai or not.

Back to talking about the food, it's made with many interesting sounding ingredients, let me show you:

Venison? I'm not sure if I've ever had venison, I think that's another word for deer. That's like a whole deer put in this can, even it's lungs and tripe!  Wow, that's kind of crazy.  Agar-Agar, what the heck is that? Sounds like a mythical creature name to me.  After a little bit of research, I learned that it is a jelly like stuff that comes from algae, that sounds gross.  This is getting kind of creepy sounding.
(I'm getting alot of extra education just writing this review, I've learned Kiwi language and now about gross sounding algae goo)

Here it is, this is what it looks like, I can't share the smell with you, which is probably a good thing.  That goo on the top must be the Agar-Agar.  This is what remains after Mum has tried to serve this to me, 3 dinners in a row. Well, let me correct that, she has served it, but I've barely touched it, all 3 times.  The first night, I licked it thinking, "yay, new stinky goodness!" I picked some up in my mouth and then spit it on the floor and walked away. She threw it out after I left it almost entirely untouched.  The 2nd try, she warmed it up, I smelled it, then walked away. She left overnight and the next morning I actually ate it as a lunch portion, since no one gave me any other lunch.  The 3rd try, she put some water in it and made it more saucey, and warmed it up.  I ate about 1/4 of it, then walked away.

Anyone who has ever met me, knows that I don't leave food uneaten. I'm not picky, I'll eat most anything, but this venison food is definitely not a winner in my book.
Mum is disappointed because she was happy about not having to buy wet food for me for a few weeks.  Now we have 11 cans of food that I dislike.  We are going to see if other kitties that we know might like it better. She actually thought about sharing some with that introoder kitty that walks around out back sometimes, but I don't approve of that.  We know of some feral rescue kitties who would appreciate it as well. Have no fear it will not go to waste just because I don't think it is ka pai.

In any case, thank you for allowing me give this food a try. If you would like to try it yourself in this, or any other flavor, here is their link to shopping: Ziwi Peak Food

Disclaimer: sends me things for free, in return for my opinions on this blog, I am not paid for these opinions, outside of receiving the free product.  It's a ka pai deal if you ask me!

Grandpaw came to see me

This was a fun weekend, my Grandpaw finally came down to see our new house.  He had a funeral in Georgia to attend so he spent the night with us on his way home to North Catolina. Grammie didn't come with him though, I would have liked to see her, but I totally understand her not wanting to ride in the 4 wheeled machine all the way there and all the way back, I would have stayed home too.

It was nice to see the Grandpaw, even though I wasn't outwardly friendly, I know Mum and WB were happy that he came to stay.  He brought some new smells with him, so I enjoyed inspecting his stuff.  He tried real hard to be friends with me, but I don't warm up to others overnight like that, maybe if he stayed a little longer like when my Uncle Jeff comes down, I may have even sat with him.  I did let him pet me a few times, and I didn't hiss once, so that was progress on my part.

As it was, I stayed upstairs in the the peepul bed all night while they all had TV time. This morning I was around for breakfast, but mostly just let him look at me.

Here I am, standing by his neat smelling stuff.

Here I am, being disappointed that I wasn't invited to give him the tour of the back yard.

After he left this morning, I was able to relax and shed the tough guy face to have all the lap time with Mum in the desk chair, then later on the couch to watch football.

I hope you all had a pleasant weekend.

As a side note: Mum was really happy about the Steelers winning last night, but I think I'm going to support those Catolina Panthers, since they are cats and they have that cool Sir Purr the Panther for a mascot.

Pet Travel Safety Day

Thanks to another cat blogger I just learned that today is Pet Travel Safety Day.  I am no fan of travelling, but I know it is very important for me and Mum to be safe if I have to go anywhere in the four wheeled machine.
I have done a fair amount of unhappy travelling in my time, if you recall about 4 years ago, we moved from Catifornia to South Catolina, boy was that the worst.  It was many, many, many days of being locked in the PTU (Prisoner transport unit for those who don't know) in the back seat of the truck.
This is me in the PTU on that trip:
I don't look to happy do I?  Nope I'm not, but I'm not going to get hurt if something should happen on the road while we are driving. However, I cannot vouch for the sanity of the driver, since there was a great deal of yelling from my area, me telling Mum how I wanted to go back home, and get me out of here and all that kind of stuff.

This an example of how a cat SHOULD NOT ride in the vehicle:
(this is at a rest stop, not while moving)
This is dangerous for the cat and the human, because if other cats are like me, I have to climb around, and look out of all the windows and cause many distractions for the driver of the vehicle.

These days I don't have to go on long trips, I have to go to V-E-T a couple times a year and that is plenty bad enough, even though it's only about 15 minutes of riding, no one enjoys it.
However, I'm in my PTU every night because that is where I sleep in my room, it's cozy and comfy when its not being used as a transporter.

Be safe everyone!!

Easy like Sunday

Just lappin and nappin on a Sunday morning.
