House guests

Yesterday the peepul had a new friend come over to hang out at the house.  I generally don't mind meeting new peepul, but what I never understand is why they think they have to make friends with me.  I
I stayed upstairs under the bed for the first few hours that the guy was here, I knew there was someone in the house right away, but I wasn't overly excited to see who it was.
Right before dinner time Mum came up to check on me and I realized it was time to eat, so I followed her down stairs and there in the kitchen, was this new human.
Of course everyone was all interested in seeing me and Mum and WB were quick to tell me how nice this new fella was and that I should be nice to him.
Honestly, he was pretty nice, he was close to Mum's size, not big and threatening like some guys, he was quiet, unlike others, he talked to me in normal peepul voice, not "cat voice".  I'm sure you know what I mean when I say "cat voice", you know how the humans do, they talk all high pitched and weird when they talk to us animuls, I really don't like that.  He didn't do that, he bent down to my level and let me decide what to do.  I decided, yeah, this guy seems cool and even rubbed up against his hand.

Later on they tried to get me to sit in the living room with them, I wasn't so eager to share my evening couch time with the new friend, mainly because when I go into relaxed mode I let my guard down with my own family, but I didn't want to get too comfy with this new guy in the house.  It's hard to say what might have happened.  Once he left, I took up my usual spot in the living room for TV time.

How does everyone else handle visitors?  I'm betting many kitties just hide away and not show themselves to strangers.

Most of my kitties are friendly to company- they are hoping for a snack. Prancie hides though.

I hide but come out a little later. Usually when peeps come to the house, there's food involved and I don't wanna miss out on any. :) Ernie and Zoey hide for the most part. They don't know what they're missing. ~Wally

Newton comes out after guests have been around for a few minutes, but Pierre and Ashton will both try to wait the guests out, sometimes for days. Some cats like company, some cats not so much.

Visitors can't be here without Binga playing hostess! She does not care who they are, if they are friends or workers, or if they have allergies - she is right up in their face. I stop by too and visit. Boodie is the hider - visitors usually think only two cats live here unless told otherwise.

Well, I am not like most cats. I actually LOVE visitors!!!! I greet them and our woofie stands behind ME so that I can make sure they are ok. I think that everyone is my friend.
Mom's Angel Bobo was like you, he HATED visitors!
